Coupon-ing 101: Policies

In order to coupon effectively and find the BEST deals, and grab the best prices on the items that you need its important to understand coupon policies...they do vary from store to store...with different rules, perks, etc...so printing them out and having them handy can SAVE you an argument, aggravation and MONEY!!!!
Occasionally cashiers, are not FULLY aware or informed of their store's policy, and this can cost you some savings...which of course means, its costing you MONEY! I do not throw my money away.

below are the links to local store's coupon policies...if you cannot print them...pull up the link and email them to your phone, if you have the ability...that way, you still have them if you need them....any questions..just ask!

Rite Aid:
http://content.riteaid.com/stores/CustomerCouponAcceptancePolicyAugust2010.pdf

**Rite Aid, allows stacking...which is FABULOUS. An example of stacking: Covergirl Prodcuts on sale Buy one get one 50% off. You have coupons: Your coupons are: $1.00 off of 1 Covergirl Product. $2.50 off of TWO Covergirl products. At RITE AID you can use the $1.00 off of 1 (if you have 2 of these even better, 1 for each product, and the $2.50 off of 2.) so you would save $4.50 on 2 instead of $2.50! This can really add up depending on what you are buying, the sale, and the coupons that you have! Make SURE you grab a Rite Aid +Up Rewrds card, you earn points, which earn you coupons, and more. If you get to 500 points you earn 10% off every item(Rx and a few other exclusions) for a year, at 1000 its 20%. Prescriptions do earn you QUITE a bit of points towards those goals...which made me switch quite a few of mine over there! It truly is the ad i get most excited about. The +Up rewards are able to be used like cash on your next or future purchase in the store...if an item is $5.99 and has a $1.50+Up ...you pay $5.99 and get the $1.50 printed on your receipt to use later , ((which can be the same day...and I do this too..depedning on the sales and what i am buying...sometimes you wind up making money that way....)) so its still really like you only spent $4.49. ((there are often some pretty big rewards!))

Giant Eagle:
http://www.gianteagle.com/about/policies

NOTE: Giant Eagle doubles coupons up to $.99. Make sure you read the coupon, not all manufacturer's allow ALL of the time...so its better to be aware....

Walmart:

http://walmartstores.com/7655.aspx

Walmart does not allow stacking...but does accept manufacturer's and competitor coupons, as well as many other options...so its a good policy to read when you are planning your trip...but depending on the item and savings..you may do better somewhere you can stack...but if its not a coupon/item combo that can be stacked then you can do a LOT of your shopping at walmart and be done with it!!!

Target:

• We can't give cash back if the face value of a coupon is greater than the purchase value of the item.
• All valid coupons should be presented to the cashier during checkout.
• All applicable sales taxes are paid by the guest at the full value of the item.
• These guidelines apply to all coupons accepted at Target (Color Checkout Coupons, Internet Coupons, Mobile Coupons, Mailed Coupons, Coupons from Newspapers and Magazines, etc.).

• A second cents-off coupon of the same type cannot be redeemed towards the purchase price of the first item.
If a Target BOGO coupon is used, one additional manufacturer coupon maybe used on the first item.
If a Manufacturer BOGO coupon is used, one additional Target coupon may be used on the first item.

• Coupons are void if copied, scanned, transferred, purchased, sold, prohibited by law or appear altered in any way.
• We can't accept coupons from other retailers or coupons for products not carried in our stores.

• We do not accept expired coupons.

TARGET IS another FAB place to shop!! With all sorts of combos you can create!!!! target's was tricky to get to at first...so i just posted the policy for ya!

**i will add policies as we go...and as requested....these major's should get us started tho!!!

**I wanted to add that as far as CRAFTS SUPPLIES and FABRIC GO...
JOANN's and MICHAELS take one anothers coupons...except occasionally will refuse off the "total purchase"..etc...Joanns tho, stacks, you can download an app on android or iphones, which has weekly coupons, and use them along with the current ad coupons as well as any "total purchase %" coupons...which works out GREAT...I never pay more than 50% there....if its not on sale or you do not have a coupon..DO NOT buy it..it will GO on sale in rotation there, and the sales are usually a significant amt....and the % off total usually and almost always includes SALE items (just not clearance!) ((so wait to buy those for special sale weekends when they mark them an additional % off..including clearance fabrics...))...any questions...JUST ASK!!! but again...NEVER ever pay FULL price!!!
